How to add Google reviews to a Wix site: step-by-step guide with "Embed HTML

· 3 min read

Got a Wix site and great Google reviews? Here's how to show them on your pages with the "Embed HTML" element, adjust the size of the frame and add a badge across the whole site.

The Wix Editor with an Embed HTML element displaying 5-star Google reviews

Wix is popular with restaurants, salons, tradespeople and small businesses that want to build their website themselves. If your customers have left you great reviews on Google, showing them on your Wix site helps your visitors decide, without them having to leave your page. Here's how to do it, step by step, without writing code.

Before you start: set up your widget

  1. Create a Trastivo account for free, with no credit card.
  2. Connect your Google Business Profile: your reviews are imported, then updated automatically.
  3. Choose your widget's template, then copy its code.

The widget doesn't set any cookies on your visitors' devices, and it only renders when it becomes visible on screen.

Add your reviews to a Wix page

  1. Open your site in the Wix Editor, on the page you want.
  2. Click Add Elements (the "+" button on the left).
  3. Choose Embed Code, then Embed HTML.
  4. A frame appears on the page: click Enter Code, then paste your widget code.
  5. Click Update, then move the frame to the spot you want.
  6. Click Publish at the top right: your reviews are live.

Set the frame size correctly

On Wix, code pasted with "Embed HTML" is displayed in a frame whose size you choose. If the frame is too small, part of the reviews is cut off or a scroll bar appears.

  • Widen the frame to the full width of the section, to leave room for the carousel.
  • Increase its height until the reviews are fully visible, with a little margin.
  • Check the mobile version: Wix has a separate mobile view. Open it with the phone icon at the top of the editor and adjust the frame size there too.

Finally, test the published page on a real phone.

Show a badge on every page

For a floating badge (Premium plan) that stays visible in a corner of the screen across the whole site, don't use "Embed HTML":

  1. In your Wix site's dashboard, go to Settings.
  2. Open Advanced, then Custom Code.
  3. Add the widget code, choose All pages, and place it in Body - end.
  4. Save.

Wix generally reserves custom code for sites with a Wix Premium plan and a connected domain. If you don't see this option, check your Wix plan.

Where to place your reviews on a Wix site

  • Home page: below the introduction to your business or above the footer.
  • Service or booking pages: near the "Book now" or "Request a quote" button.
  • Contact page: next to the form, to reassure a visitor who is hesitating.

You'll find ideas for your line of business on our pages for restaurants, hair and beauty and tradespeople.
